Orisa Ibeji and Children's Rites of Passage

In this multi-speaker panel session featuring J. Efunlayo, Dr. Fakemi Johnson and 16-year old Ifasanu, we discuss the importance of rites of passage into adulthood for young people. The panel explores how such rites can contribute to self-knowledge, personal empowerment, self-growth, and community building through bridging the gap between generations. 

 Areas covered include acknowledging the spirit within oneself, teaching children about ritual and ceremony and ways it can be utilized for personal development. 

 Also stressing the importance of creating spaces for children to reflect upon their own thoughts and feelings, and to honor their voices and purpose.
